DAVIS, Calif. - ELEVEN SPORTS will televise two UC Davis home games nationwide when the network announced its 2018 broadcast schedule on Monday. Its first appearance at Aggie Stadium will take place on Sept. 22 when football hosts Idaho in its league opener. On Nov. 17, ELEVEN SPORTS will return to Davis to air the Aggies’ annual rivalry game vs. Sacramento State.
Even though the network released its weekly slate, kickoff times were not announced; UCDavisAggies.com, and UC Davis Athletics' social media feeds (Twitter, Facebook, football's Twitter and Facebook feeds) will announce start times once they are official.
Idaho, a school that competed in the Big Sky from 1965-95 and most recently spent the last four years at the FBS level as a member of the Sun Belt Conference, will face the Aggies for the second time in school history, and the first time on UC Davis’ home turf. The inaugural head-to-head meeting took place in 1997 (in Moscow, Idaho) when the Aggies competed as a Division II independent program.
In ELEVEN SPORTS’ inaugural Causeway Classic broadcast, UC Davis will end the regular season seeking its fourth home victory against Sacramento State in the last five rivalry games played on its home turf.
ELEVEN SPORTS last visited Aggie Stadium on Sept. 30, 2017, when it aired last year’s Big Sky home opener vs. North Dakota. That evening, the Aggies finished with 651 yards of total offense against the defending co-Big Sky champions.
All ELEVEN SPORTS productions of the Big Sky Conference are also available on WatchBigSky.com and Pluto TV. ELEVEN SPORTS is also available on DIRECTV channel 623, Verizon Fios channel 597 and AT&T U-verse channel 1665. Select Big Sky Conference games can also be found streaming on ELEVEN’s digital channel ELEVEN SPORTS NEXT on Twitch.tv, in addition to other cable and OTT providers.
UC Davis will kick-off the 2018 season on Aug. 30, at San José State, before hosting San Diego on Sept. 8 in the first of five home games taking place at Aggie Stadium. With numerous players earning national honors, a slew of new program records and the league's top offense (for the first time in program history), UC Davis enjoyed its most successful season in the Big Sky in 2017 -- the first year of the Dan Hawkins era.
